    On 21 May a WolfPack UH-1C gunship was shot down over bad terrain during a mission in support of Project Delta operations working out of the Hue Phu Bai area from 12 April through 15 June, 1967.  The aircraft burned after rolling down a ravine. The copilot, CWO Walter Wrobleski was mortally injured during the crash.  The pilot CWO Donald Corkran, copilot and gunner Gary Hall were listed as MIA.

    PFC Michael P. Gallagher was flying as a door gunner during recovery mission that picked up the downed crew chief Craig Szwed later in the day under heavy enemy fire.   While operating the hoist to save one of his comrades, Michael was mortally wounded.  

    On 22 May another crew member was sighted and while being extracted a CH-46 was downed in the LZ.  On 23 May after approximately 60 hours in the jungle, the missing pilot was sighted and extracted.
