"Victor was sensitive and kind, very supportive of his mother who often needed this support.  He was also our success story: A high school graduate who made it on his own, as children we had a hard life. He joined the Air Force straight out of high school to try and find a life for himself.  His first tour in Viet Nam was while he was in the Air Force.  He was a crewman on the transport plane, the Caribou.  He came home and tried to make it in the civilian world but ended up returning to the military, this time the Army.  He met his wife Kay and had two years of happiness before he died in Viet Nam.  Victor is the middle child of a family of five kids.  He was also the one I turned to when I needed someone to share my own pain."
Nell Sutton, Victor's oldest sister

"I'm Angela White and my family purchased the house that Kay White grew up in in Merry Hill, NC.  Kay and I are related. Her grand father and my great grand father were brothers.  While going through stuff in the house I came across Victor Sutton's things. Now I have a room in the house dedicated to him and rooms for all the military in the family and community!"
